Huntington and the Revolutionary War

The people of Huntington suffered greatly during the long British occupation of their town during the Revolutionary War. Join Historian Jeff Richman for an illustrated talk about Revolutionary War Huntington and the stories of the patriots who sacrificed so much for the cause.

Jeff Richman was the fulltime historian at Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery for many years. Last year, he was elected a trustee of the Huntington Historical Society. Soon thereafter he launched its “Revolutionary War Project,” in which he leads volunteer researchers and writers in creating biographies of the 67 patriots who are interred at Huntington’s Old Burying Ground. Jeff is the author of five history books; his most recent is Building the Brooklyn Bridge, 1869-1883: An Illustrated History with Images in 3D.

Refreshments will be served.
