The Huntington Historical Society began as an exclusively female organization in the early 20th century. Spawned by the success of the Town’s 250th anniversary celebration in 1903, the Society’s inception was due, in part, to the changing role of American women in the home. This exhibit presents a brief history of the Huntington Historical Society, highlighting six women responsible for its founding. The objects on display include some of the Society’s earliest donations, including several objects that were on display at the original Colonial Exhibit in 1903.
